Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information I collect when you use this website or work with me, why I need it, and what you can ask me to do with it. I keep it short and in plain English.
Who I am
I'm Yehor, a sole trader in York trading as York Websites. I decide how your information is used, which makes me the "data controller" under UK data protection law.
Contact: yehor.yorkwebsites@gmail.com or 07356 082474.
What I collect
- When you use the "free website check" form: your business name, website address, email or phone number, and anything you write in the message box.
- When you contact me directly by email, phone or WhatsApp: your name, contact details and what you send me.
- When we work together: the details I need to do the job and invoice you, such as your name, business address, and the content, photos and logins you share for your website.
- When I contact a business first: publicly available business details, such as the business name, website, and the contact details it publishes.
This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics that follow you around the web. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from Google.
Why I use it
- To reply to your request and prepare a quote. This is necessary to take steps you asked for before a contract.
- To do the work you pay for and send invoices. This is necessary to carry out our contract.
- To keep business and tax records. The law requires me to keep these.
- To contact businesses about my services. This is based on my legitimate interest in finding clients. I only contact businesses, I follow the UK rules on electronic marketing, and every message tells you how to say no.
I never sell your information or use it for anything unrelated to my work for you.
Who else handles it
I use a few trusted services to run my business. They only process your information to provide their service to me:
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and processes the contact form.
- Telegram: delivers form requests to my phone.
- Google (Gmail): email.
- WhatsApp: messages, if you contact me there.
- Monzo: invoices and payments.
Some of these companies store data outside the UK, for example in the US or the EU. They use the legal safeguards required by UK law for these transfers.
How long I keep it
- Requests that don't turn into work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client and invoice records: 6 years, because tax law requires it.
- Details of businesses I contacted first: deleted when you ask, or after 12 months without a reply.
- Logins you give me for your website: only as long as I need them for the work or the Care plan. I store them in a password manager, not in email or chat.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your information, unless I have to keep it by law;
- stop contacting you. I'll stop straight away and won't contact you again.
Just email or message me. I'll reply within one month, usually much sooner, and there's no charge.
If you're unhappy with how I handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes
If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
