Terms of work
These terms apply whenever I, Yehor, trading as York Websites, do website work for your business. They're written to be read, not to catch you out. If anything in your quote is different from what's here, the quote wins.
1. Quotes and prices
- Before I start, I send you a fixed price and a short list of what's included, by email or WhatsApp. Work starts when you reply to say yes.
- A quote is valid for 30 days.
- I'm not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to my prices.
- Third-party costs are separate and paid by you, for example your domain name (a .co.uk is about £10 a year) or any paid plugin or theme. I'll always tell you about these before buying anything.
2. Payment
- Jobs under £100, like a Quick fix: paid when the work is done.
- Larger jobs, like a Refresh or New site: half up front, half when you're happy and before the site goes live or is handed over.
- Invoices are due within 14 days. You can pay by bank transfer or card using the link on the invoice.
- If an invoice is more than 14 days late, I may pause work until it's paid.
3. Changes and revisions
- Refresh and New site include two rounds of changes. A round means you send me one list of everything you'd like changed, and I make those changes.
- Extra rounds, or new work that wasn't in the quote, are quoted separately before I do them. Nothing is added to your bill without you agreeing first.
4. What I need from you
- Text, photos, logos and logins, when I ask for them. Delays on your side move the finish date.
- If I don't hear back for 30 days, I'll pause the project. We can pick it up again at any time.
- You confirm that you have the right to use any text, photos and logos you give me.
5. Ownership
- Once everything is paid, the website, its content and design are yours.
- Your domain and hosting are registered in your name wherever possible. When the work is finished, I hand over every login.
- I may show the finished site in my portfolio, unless you ask me not to.
6. New site on the monthly plan
- £35 a month for 12 months, with nothing up front. Hosting, the domain and the Care plan are included for those 12 months.
- After 12 payments the site is fully yours. You can continue the Care plan or not.
- If you want to finish early, you can pay the remaining months in one go and the site is yours straight away.
7. Care plan
- Paid monthly. Cancel any time by telling me before your next payment date. There's no minimum term.
- Includes up to 1 hour of changes a month. Unused time doesn't roll over. Bigger jobs are quoted separately.
- Changes are usually done the same day, and always within one working day.
8. Cancelling a project
- If you cancel before I start, I refund any deposit in full.
- If you cancel after I've started, you pay for the work done so far, and I give you everything I've made.
9. Things outside my control
- I take care to do good work and back up sites on the Care plan. But I'm not responsible for problems caused by services I don't control, such as hosting companies, Google, or website builders like Wix, or for changes made by someone else.
- If something I did goes wrong, I'll fix it for free. My total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid me for that job.
10. The small print
- How I handle personal information is explained in the privacy notice.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
- If I update these terms, the new version applies to new work only.
